ABOUT WOMAD
WOMAD
is a festival of music and dance bringing together artists from
all over the world. WOMAD stands for the World Of Music Arts and
Dance, a concept originally inspired by Peter
Gabriel. At festivals and performance events, through recorded
releases and with educational projects, WOMAD aims to excite,
inform and entertain and to make people of all ages aware of the
worth and potential of a multicultural society. WOMAD festivals
are renowned for their unique mix of artists and distinctive family-friendly
atmosphere. Since their very first festival in 1982, WOMAD has
presented more than 100 events in 18 countries playing to an audience
of more than a million people world wide.
